Several times a year, the harbour serves as a base for international sailing matches: in fact, the IJsselmeer is an excellent lake for both sailing and wind-surfing.

3 museums are also available to you: Castle Radboud, the Steam Machine museum and the bakery museum.
A mere 250 meters away from the hotel lies the IJsselmeer coast, boasting a range of water activities. Ideal family beaches with shallow water are within a 15 minute walking distance and when the weather is bad, guests can use the indoor pool at the Zuiderzee Bungalow Park.
Various cycling routes leave from Medemblik, taking you past various quaint towns, picturesque landscape and traditional farm houses.
A popular excursion, leaving from Medemblik or Hoorn, is the Historical Triangle tour. Take the steam train from Hoorn to Medemblik and from there, after lunch, a boat to Enkhuizen (Zuiderzee museum). From here you take the NS (public transport) train back to Hoorn.
